On May 15 the Jefferson County Warriors took the field for their annual offense versus defense spring scrimmage.

Warrior Head Coach J.B. Arnold uses the scrimmage as a learning experience for the season.

“We take this as a chance to look at all the players who didn’t help us and who stepped up and did help us,” Arnold said.

Arnold has his priorities set in regards to improvement.

“We’ll just keep working on what we’ve been working on all year, and just find players to step into positions,” he said.

The team lost 27 seniors this year, and gained 40 freshmen.

“They’re a great bunch of kids, a very talented group; I’m very excited to work with them,” Arnold said.

Arnold said spring practice has already made a difference in next season’s team.

“We got better,” he said.

“We still got areas we can improve on. This gave us a chance to know what we need to do this summer, and what we can improve on.”
