JCHS Summer School
Jefferson County High School will hold Summer School on June 15-July 9, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Courses include English, math, science and social studies. The fee for one credit is $200 for in-county students and $400 for out-of-county students. Payment can be made in the form of cash or money order only. No checks. Neighborhood Watch
A Wrens Neighborhood Watch meeting will be held on Monday, June 15, at 6 p.m. at Wrens City Civic Center. Light refreshments will be served.


Cotton scout school
The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension will hold a cotton scout school on June 16, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the SE Research and Education Center, Midville. The program will offer basic information on cotton insects and scouting procedures and will serve as an introduction to cotton insect monitoring for new scouts and as a review for experienced scouts and producers. Area blood drives
Glascock County Consolidated School will host a summer blood drive through Shepeard Blood Center on June 17, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Family Connections building, Gibson. Donors will receive a free t-shirt. In addition, the Shepeard grill will cook hamburgers for donors. Queensborough National Bank and Trust Company is sponsoring a blood drive through Shepeard Blood Center on Monday, June 22, from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the parking lot at the main branch in downtown Louisville.


GC BOE
The Glascock County Board of Education will meet on Thursday, June 25, at 7 p.m.


Summer Camp
Jefferson SHIPS for YOUTH, Inc., will hold a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Youth Summer Camp Monday-Thursday, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. until June 26. Ages 6-13. For more information or to register, call (478) 625-3789 or (762) 245-9940.


Honoring Vietnam vets
The John Franklin Wren Chapter NSDAR is in partnership with the 50th Anniversary commemoration of the Vietnam War. In order to honor Vietnam veterans, information is needed, including name, rank, branch of service, years served in Vietnam and a copy of DD form 214 indicating honorable service. Blake Cameronís Walk
Blake Cameronís Annual Walk supporting Catherine Adams will be held on July 4, from 8-10 a.m. at Wadley Middle School. T-shirts are $10 and deadline is June 15. Walk is $10 per mile and due by June 30. For more information, contact Brenda Cameron at (478) 252-1968 or email camer930@bellsouth.net.


Feed-A-Kid
Shekinah Baptist Church, Louisville, is hosting a Feed-A-Kid program until July 17, from noon-1 p.m., for ages 2-18. For more information, contact Blanche Greene at (973) 951-7827.


GC Bingo night
The Glascock County Senior Center will hold Bingo Night on June 11, from 6-8 p.m. This event is open to the community. There will be refreshments and prizes. Call and sign-up to get your name on the list.


JC Leisure Center
The Jefferson County Leisure Center will hold a Pre-Flag Day Ceremony on Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m.; a day at the beach in Savannah on Thursday, June 18; a Pre-Fatherís Day Fish Fry on Friday, June 19, at noon; a summer movie on Monday, June 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pal Theatre, cost is $5; a Wellness Nutrition Education Day on Wednesday, June 24; Wise Choice Diabetic Class on Wednesday, June 24, at 10 a.m.; a Chronic Disease Self-Management Class every Monday through July 6; senior bingo every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:30 p.m.; and computer classes every Monday and Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. For more information, call (478) 625-8820.


Keenagers
The Wrens Keenagers will meet on Thursday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at Wrens Baptist Church, with speaker Wrens Mayor Lester Hadden.


Fatherís Day Festival
The Third Annual Fatherís Day Festival will be held on Saturday, June 20, from 1-6 p.m. at Wadley Park, Wadley. There will be a car show, bike show, vendors, waterslides, music and more. There is no admission and there will be more than $700 in prizes. Cars and bikes entrance fee is $10. Sponsored by Jackson Fashion and Wireless. Miss JC Pageant
The Jefferson County Warrior Flag Line will host the Second Annual Miss Jefferson County Pageant on June 27, at 5 p.m. at Jefferson County High School auditorium. This yearís pageant will consist of dress, casual wear and a Peopleís Choice Award. For more information, email sandifery@jefferson.k12.ga.us.


Rec Dept registration
The Jefferson County Recreation Department will hold registration for youth football, cheerleading and fall soccer programs until Aug. 7. Registration forms are available at the office. For more information, call (478) 625-3383.


J.J. Weeks Band
The J.J. Weeks Band performance has been rescheduled for Aug. 22, at the walking track in Wrens.


GC Senior Center openings
